SCRI has just completed a comprehensive survey of broadcast and pro video facilities in China in partnership with IMAS Publishing, China. The survey tracked user profiles, technology trends, business conditions, products purchased, planned for purchase, and brand shares.
Last month we posted the results of “Usage of File-based Workflows” (add link)
This month we show the results of usage of cloud-based storage and/or other cloud-based software applications.
Overall, 17% of broadcast pro facilities in China were already using cloud-based storage and/or other cloud-based software applications at survey time in the 3rd Q of 2013.
An additional 4.1% expected to begin using by the end of 2013, bringing total usage in 2013 to 21.4%. An additional 18% expect to begin using in 2014 and 18% in 2015, bringing total usage in the next two years to over 50%.
Over one in three facilities (35.6%) are unsure as to when they will begin using cloud systems while only 3.6% do not expect to ever use cloud.
