Iron Man 3 conquered the French box office with a $40.1 million performance, approximately the same amount of money that was earned by combining the total box office of the franchise’s first two installments. The superhero film was the only release of the year to break the $40 million mark in the country. Thor: The Dark World followed in its footsteps with $22.3 million.
